Although it looks 'space-worthy' the Saturn V Rocket in front of PCIS is a replica of the spacecraft that landed the first man on the moon. The monument was dedicated in 2009 at a ceremony where NASA engineer Desmond Beck cut the ribbon. The monument not only honors the space program, but also symbolizes teamwork. It was created through the combined efforts of local businesses, the Central High School Career Technical program and Phenix City Schools.
