Rocket Monument Launches
rocket.jpg
Although it looks 'space-worthy' the Saturn V Rocket in front of PCIS is a replica of the spacecraft that landed the first man on the moon. The monument was dedicated in 2009 at a ceremony where NASA engineer Desmond Beck cut the ribbon. The monument  not only honors the space program, but also symbolizes teamwork. It was created through the combined efforts of local businesses, the Central High School Career Technical program and Phenix City Schools.

How do you spell champion? At PCIS you spell it S-T-A-R-L-A-I-N-A.  Starlaina won the Russel County Spelling Bee Competition held at Dixie Elementary School February 11th.  The PCIS sixth grader will represent the area in the Alabama State Spelling Bee on March 7th in Birmingham.  Good luck Starlaina.
