Ethan C. Places at Regional Science Fair |
Ethan C. placed first in his category Environmental Science at the regional Science Fair in Talledega, Alabama. He will go on to compete at the state level in the Alabama Science and Engineering Fair. His project studied the interior temperature of houses based on their color. The question that drove his project was "Is the temperature of the interior of your house affected by the exterior color?" His findings were that the darker the color the warmer the temperature inside the house. The application of his findings was that a yellow colored house would benefit during both summer and winter because of its neutral light absorption. Further extension of his research were in the areas of clothing colors worn by heat stroke victims. Ethan has placed first in school science fairs three years in a row. His past project topics include static electricity and lightning, and human height changes based on gravity. Congratulations, Ethan, and thank you for representing PCIS at the state competition.
